What sorts of things do volunteers do?
If you are interested in volunteering, please contact us. We have programs that require different amounts of time and skill. We appreciate all inquiries.
Foster Program
There are different types of foster homes needed: moms with nursing kittens, kittens too young to be adopted, bottle-fed kittens, cats needing socialization, and sick cats/kittens.
Trap-Neuter-Return
This involves working with a team of trappers, the colony caregiver, and the cat coordinator to set traps, transport cats to surgery, provide post-op care, return the cats to their original location, or clean traps.
Cat Coordinator
We need individuals to work one-on-one with feral cat caregivers. We assist them by tracking the number of cats in their colony, trapping all their cats for neutering and vaccinations, returning the cats to them, answering questions, and assisting them with proper long-term feral cat management.
Feral Food Donations
We feed various feral cat colonies around Bloomington and help provide food to feral colony caregivers. All of the cats are neutered, vaccinated, and will live out their lives without reproducing. We constantly need premium hard cat food, canned tuna, and canned cat food. If you are interested in organizing a feral food drive, we would appreciate your help.
Public Relations
Experienced marketing, graphic designers, and business professionals are needed for many communication projects.
Voicemail Retrieval
If you can assist logging the phone calls and providing telephone communications to our organization, please volunteer.
Construction Help
We need to build wood cat shelters, feeding stations, cat climbing houses, and straw bale shelters.
Grant Writers
Experienced professional fundraisers needed as well as individuals willing to coordinate smaller fundraising activities.
Relocation Sites Needed
Do you know someone who has a barn, shed, or wooded area? Would they allow us to relocate a colony of feral cats? The property owner could be involved as little or as much as they would like with the cats. Our volunteers would provide cat care if they only want to provide the location.
